Privacy Policy

How EyeWell handles the schedule you set and the break history you build.

Last updated: July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the EyeWell application ("the app") handles information when you use it. EyeWell is designed as a personal, on-device tool — your schedule, preferences, streaks, and break history stay on your device. There is no account, no sign-in, and no background tracking.

1. Information We Collect

Preferences You Set

You may configure the following inside the app: your active time window, which days of the week reminders are on, how often breaks occur, how long each break lasts, your selected theme, and your selected notification sound. These preferences are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to us.

Break Activity and Streaks

The app records the breaks you take (or skip) so it can display today's count, total break time, and your daily streak. This activity data lives locally on your device and is not linked to your identity.

Notifications

To deliver the 20-20-20 reminders you configure, the app schedules local notifications on your device during your active hours only. Reminders are silent outside your schedule. No push data is routed through our servers.

Diagnostics

The app may collect anonymous crash reports and basic diagnostic data (device model, operating system version, app version, non-identifying error traces) to help fix bugs and improve stability. This data is not linked to your identity and cannot be used to reconstruct your schedule or break history.

Support Requests

If you contact support, we receive only what you choose to share — typically your email address and the contents of your message.

2. How We Use Information

We do not build advertising profiles, sell data, or share your schedule or break history with anyone.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data. A small number of trusted third-party services may be used solely for crash reporting and basic analytics; none of these services receive your schedule, break history, streak, themes, or sound preferences.

4. Data Storage, Security, and Retention

Your schedule, streak, and break history stay on your device. Reminders are local notifications only — nothing is sent to our servers.

5. Children's Privacy

The app is rated 4+ on the App Store, meaning its content is suitable for all ages. It is, however, designed and intended for adults building healthier screen habits, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we encourage parents and guardians to supervise their children's use of mobile applications. If we become aware that a child's personal information has been collected without appropriate consent, we will delete it promptly.

6. Your Rights

Because your data is stored locally, you can edit your schedule, reset your streak, or wipe break history directly inside the app at any time. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have the right to access, correct, or delete data we might otherwise hold about you (for example, from support correspondence), and to withdraw consent where applicable. You can also revoke or change the app's notification permission at any time in your device Settings under Notifications.

7. Health Disclaimer

EyeWell is a habit and wellbeing aid, not a medical device or a substitute for professional care. The 20-20-20 guideline is a widely referenced practice for reducing digital eye strain, but individual results vary. If you experience persistent eye discomfort, headaches, or vision changes, please consult a qualified eye care professional.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, our practices, or applicable law. Material changes will be surfaced in the app or on this page; continued use of the app after an update indicates acceptance of the revised Policy.

9. Contact

Privacy-related questions and requests can be sent to [email protected].
